Feeling (and sharing) the Luv!

index (This is the 2nd in a Series of 3 About Bloghopping)

Introducing Yourself to New Friends

When you visit other blogs that share a similar niche as yours, there are many advantages to be gained:

  • Make new friends that could be future Joint Venture partners
  • Create familiarity with your own name/brand
  • Connect with possible new readers of your own blog posts
  • Help with building new traffic to your blog

Enter CommentLuv

There is a popular plugin that you can easily install, that will greatly increase the effectiveness of your blog hopping efforts. There is a free version available that is becoming extremely popular because it really works.

When you install the plugin to your blog, it encourages visitors to leave a comment on your post by enabling a titled link back to their own site to their latest post.  When you leave a comment on others’ blog posts, it will also add a link back to your post if you fill in your URL in the information box on their “leave comment” section. This is assuming they have CommentLuv installed on their blog, also.

Use CommentLuv For Free

There is also a paid version of CommentLuv that has some other advantages, but I recommend using the free version (that works great!) for a while, and decide later if the additional features in the paid version would be worth investing in

You can download the free version of CommentLuv HERE.

You can also go to “plugins” on your dashboard and search for “CommentLuv” in “add new plugin”.

In the next and final post of this series on Blog Hopping, we will talk about how you can use it to build comments and readers on your blog posts.

    Hi Steven
I love CommentLuv :) I think everyone should be using it so they can gain more traffic and build up relationships with their readers which is very important.
I agree with you that to try out the free version first to get used to how it works then you can upgrade and then use less plugins as the paid version comes with a few extras.
Thanks for sharing, hope you enjoy your day.

    1. Hi Pauline,

    Hi Steven,

I’ve been more than happy with the free version of comment luv and it would be the first plugin that I recommend to all new bloggers.

What’s the main advantages of upgrading to the paid?

    1. Hi Andrew,

Here’s some of the stated advantages:

-It allows commentators to use keywords with their name

-Lets them enter their Twitter name with their own name

-Allows them to choose from ten of their posts to display

      -Has an anti-spambot plugin

-It allows you to choose between Dofollow and Nofollow

I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it to me, as it’s a pretty pricey plugin.

I do believe that the free version is adding quite a bit of new traffic to my site.

      Thanks, Andrew – Steve

    1. Hi Sandi,

I agree. It’s really helped me connect with some nice people that I would have otherwise never known about.

That’s why the title of your post is so important, it’s the only thing everybody sees at the bottom of your comment.

You’re also right that CommentLuv works best when you comment on blogs in a similar niche as your own.

      Thanks, Sandi. – Steve

I used to use comment luv for my blog, but it created a lot of spam comment. It’s true I got a lot of comments, but most of them was spam.

    1. Hi Wasee,

I had Akismet to catch the spam, but I still had to delete them manually. Now I have a plugin called “GASP” that was recommended by Adrienne Smith and I haven’t gotten any spam since.

Funny thing though, your comment ended up in the spam folder, and I had to mark it as “not spam”. I guess nothing is foolproof.

Thanks for checking out my blog, Wasee. – Steve
